Gerda Zonruiter, MScPl. Gerda Zonruiter has been working in the field of applied research and program evaluation since 2000. She has been a consultant with the Centre since 2008. Shortly after receiving her Master of Science Degree in Planning, Gerda worked for the City of London as a community planning and policy research associate. In 2015, Gerda made the leap into the consulting world. She has a research and evaluation background that covers many areas including social assistance, community development, workforce development, health promotion and education, settlement education for newcomers, disabilities, children’s services, and poverty.

Gerda’s skills include evaluation planning, qualitative and quantitative research and writing. She has conducted data analysis gathered through participatory action-based research on a wide range of projects. She has experience in conducting interviews and focus groups, and survey design. As a writer, Gerda can synthesize a great deal of information and package it to be audience-friendly. She is interested in economic evaluation including Social Return on Investment (SROI) analysis.

On the technical side, Gerda has significant experience with online survey software, NVivo software for qualitative data analysis, SPSS and excel for quantitative data analysis. She is quick to pick up online project collaboration software such as Basecamp.   Gerda has been a panelist in online and in-person workshops and webinars on program evaluation.

Gerda is a member of the Canadian Evaluation Society. She is a steering committee member of the Centre for Research on Health Equity and Social Inclusion (CREHSI). Gerda’s community work has been of a frontline nature. Most recently, Gerda was involved with the Bridges Out of Poverty l Circles program as a volunteer mentor. She is also involved in her church and was a member of a Habitat for Humanity building team in Paraguay.

Gerda holds an Education Degree and a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education, both from Western University.

She enjoys practicing yoga, hiking, running, paddle boarding, kayaking, reading, and spending time with her family.
