Maria Sánchez-Keane, M.Div., MBA is the founder of the Centre for Organizational Effectiveness.  An international management consultant, trainer and facilitator since 2000, as well as having over 10 years of senior management experience in the non-profit sector, Maria’s areas of expertise include systems, community and strategic planning, organizational development and change management, and program evaluation.  In the context of today’s rapidly changing environment, she has designed, facilitated and managed a wide variety of processes for systems, communities and organizations to increase their capacity and operate more effectively.  Maria has also used her strong facilitation skills when working with groups experiencing challenges, including conflict, and has assisted in creating high-performance work groups.

By her work she aims to improve the health and well-being of people, particularly those most vulnerable and marginalized in society, through organizational, community and systems improvements and change.

Maria’s systems, community and organizational background has given her clients the ability to develop strong implementation plans with clear performance measures, which effectively evaluate the success of initiatives undertaken.  She has worked with various sized groups, from teams of three to organizations with thousands of employees across many communities. She has worked with community, organizational, municipal, provincial and national leaders.

Maria holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Divinity, which grounds her work. Her MBA research focus was on strategy, evaluation and scorecards.  Maria’s business approach is marked by the philosophy of creating working communities that are empowered to generate and implement strong strategic solutions.

For the past 15 years, Maria has facilitated a wide variety of systems and community planning tables to drive system and community improvements. Through her facilitation, the system has seen markedly improved access, coordination, integration and service delivery.  As a result, resources are used more effectively.

Due to the varied groups with which Maria has worked, she brings with her an extensive facilitative background with a long list of varied approaches to working with communities and organizations, including appreciative inquiry, gaps analysis, community development, comparative analysis and risk assessments.

More importantly, Maria and her husband Dan have four children together – Monica, Daniel, Christina and Gabriella.

She is an avid runner, a passionate Colombian-Canadian, and a justice-focused, globally and community-minded optimist.
